Role Overview
A communityteaching hospital situated in a scenic region with strong outdoor recreation, vibrant local nightlife, and an affordable cost of living, is seeking a Pharmacist for the surgical / procedural area. You'll be based within the procedural and surgical services of a modern facility and will help advance patientcentered pharmacy care. You will :
- Collaborate with the Pharmacy Clinical Manager to manage pharmacy workflow within procedural and surgical services (including both the main campus and an ambulatory surgery center).
- Supervise pharmacy technicians, verify and dispense medications safely and effectively.
- Provide education and training to pharmacy staff and other disciplines on topics related to procedural care.
- Lead efforts to optimize the procedural area workflow, enhance operational efficiency, minimize adverse medication events and control medication costs.
- Review medication orders in the procedural / surgical setting, precept pharmacy students and residents, participate in clinical and performanceimprovement projects, and attend surgical rounds.
Qualifications
Required :
Pharm.D. degree from an accredited college of pharmacyLicensed pharmacist (Massachusetts)Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (or obtain within four years of hire)Minimum 1 year of hospital clinical pharmacy experience and / or completion of a residency programStrong analytic and problem solving abilities, leadership skills, excellent organizational capabilities, ability to manage multiple prioritiesFamiliarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPointPreferred :
Postgraduate residency experience preferredPrior experience or interest in procedural care / surgical services pharmacySchedule Notes :
Must work every other weekendRotating holidaysShifts and hours are determined by departmental needs; some evening shifts may be required.Skills Required
