Mobile Crisis, Community Stabilization Counselor

Advancing Communities Everywhere is seeking to immediately hire for the position of Crisis Stabilization Crisis Counselor within Richmond Region 4- Central Virginia. Here at ACE, we offer a option of positions for implementing Crisis services to include onsite, and community based services to fit an array of busy scheduling offering a flexible work-life balance.

In addition to direct client care, QMHPs are responsible for coordinating services according to clients treatment plans, facilitating, engaging families in crisis intervention and stabilization services to provide complete wrap-around services, and facilitating admissions and discharge preparation from the program. Experience providing Crisis Stabilization services and / or knowledge of community mental health services and resources are preferred for this position.

• Overview of Crisis Clinical Services Responsibilities :
• Crisis Response and De-escalation
• Respond to referrals from VCC, 988, BHL, hospitals, or law enforcement.
• Deliver on-site or telehealth crisis services addressing suicidal ideation, psychosis, and acute behavioral concerns.
• Provide therapeutic de-escalation, grounding, and short-term intervention techniques.
• Assessment and Documentation
• Complete DBHDS-approved risk assessments, safety plans, and crisis documentation.
• All documentation must be submitted the same day or within 24 hours, depending on service type.
• Care Coordination and Follow-Up
• Coordinate care with CSBs, hospitals, outpatient providers, and family.
• Facilitate warm handoffs to long-term services.
• Provide community stabilization support up to 714 days post-crisis.
• Compliance and Ethical Standards
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
• Participate in training, supervision, and adhere to DBHDS / ACE policies.
• Meet mandated reporting requirements.
• Compensation Structure :

ACE processes payments on a bi-weekly basis (every other Friday) for services completed and documented. Compensation is as follows :

For individuals who reside in the Petersburg, Virginia service locality, the reimbursement rate for MCR is $60.00 per hour. across the board (regular hours and after hours).

Only documented and compliant services are billable.

• Mental Health Skill Building / Intensive in Home at ACE :

These roles are 1099 Contract, however for individuals billing more than 32 Hours per week, we will transition to Full-Time, Benefits Included.

MHSB / IIH = $21.00 per hour for Trainee, and $25.00 per hour for a QMHP-A / C.

• Additional Contractual Terms :
• Work Schedule & Environment
• This is a hybrid position, offering flexibility to complete services both remotely and in person.
• Contractors are responsible for setting their own schedules and fulfilling contract expectations.
• No paid time off, holidays, or employer-sponsored benefits are offered.
• 1099 Contract Status

As a 1099 independent contractor :

• You are self-employed
• ACE does not withhold taxes
• You are responsible for managing personal taxes, insurance, and retirement

Compensation is strictly service-based and tracked by documentation

Direct Deposit payments are processed through GUSTO Payroll

• Must obtain QMHP registration from the Virginia Board of Counseling
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Must be able to obtain an official copy of your college transcript
• Must possess ACTIVE valid car insurance coverage
