Job Description
The Librarian primarily assists the Library Director and in turn the customers with questions related to materials and services. This position also performs a variety of duties related to the circulation of materials, special programing and assisting customers. The Librarian provides research assistance in person at service desk, by phone and electronically to customers. The Librarian is responsible for evaluation of services, goals, and alignment of those goals with the department and City long term objectives. This position requires attention to detail, good organization skills, extensive knowledge of library reference, circulation, practices and procedures and the ability to work positively with the general public.
Works under the specific supervision of the Library Director. Basic supervision of the Library clerks on a day-to-day basis, acts as the first-line supervisor of the Library Clerks when the Library Director is absent.
Job Responsibilities
Assists in planning, coordinating, and managing the programs, services, and activities of a Library,
Segregates books and other materials needing repairs; mends books and materials as needed; applies dust jacket covers
Independently able to complete inventory, follow up on item search requests, follow the overdue procedures, and running reports in the koha
Performs library related computer work such as entering and retrieving data
Answer questions about assigned tasks
Prepares, evaluates and create with the delivery of special programs and services (children, adult, and young adult)

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range :
Full wage range is as follows, please note hiring will occur at the minimum of the range.
Min : $58,968 / yr.
Mid : $70,762 / yr.
Max : $82,555 / yr.

The City participates in the Utah Public Retirement System (pension). In addition, the City does not participate in Social Security so no Social Security taxes are deducted from your paycheck. In lieu of the City's Social Security contributions, the City contributes 6.2% of salary into a 401(k) retirement plan.
Leave time benefits include 120 hours of paid time off (PTO) accrued annually, 40 hours of short-term medical accrued annually, and 11 holidays annually.
Schedule : Hours : 40
9 am-6 pm Monday, Wednesday & Thursday
8 : 30 am-5 : 30 pm Friday
11 : 30 am-8 : 30 pm Tuesday
8 : 00 am-4 : 30 pm 1st Saturday of the month (Take off Friday)
