We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant - Construction to support our team at Tarkett Sports Construction-Northwest , a leading expert in construction management services for projects of all sizes. They provide expertise in excavation, grading, and utility installation, while offering a superior customer experience at every stage of the project. Reporting to the President of Benchmark Contracting, the Senior Accountant - Construction oversees financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and insurance programs to support accurate construction project accounting and strategic decision-making, while working on-site at the West Linn, Oregon office.

What you'll do :

• Financial Reporting : Prepare accurate financial statements and reports in compliance with accounting standards and Tarkett requirements. Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, WIP and payroll.
• Budgeting & Forecasting : Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial reviews, providing insights and corrective recommendations.
• Financial Operations : Oversee accounts payable / receivable, job costing, payroll, tax compliance, banking, and cash flow management.
• Compliance, Controls & Risk : Ensure adherence to financial regulations ( GAAP), tax laws, and internal controls; coordinate audits and manage enrollment in Owner Controlled and Contractor Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIP and CCIP) to ensure project-wide coverage and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare monthly reports for workers' compensation and general liability insurance.
• Maintain state registrations and business licenses to ensure legal compliance across jurisdictions.
• Benefits Administration : Manage employee master data, benefits programs, and payroll setup, ensuring compliance with labor and tax laws.
• Strategic Support : Provide financial insights for decision-making and managing insurance administration.
