The Jacksonville Human Rights Commission Department is actively seeking an Equal Opportunity Aide.

This is technical work in conducting interviews and processing complaints regarding alleged charges of discrimination in violation of equal opportunity laws. Work requires knowledge of federal state and local Employment and Housing laws and the procedures involved in processing charges with specialized skills in written and oral communications which are acquired through a combination of education and work experience. Contacts require skills in understanding and influencing people and are important in interviewing complainants and explaining laws and regulations. Work is semi-routine where tasks are covered by procedures or precedents and although patterned some latitude is permitted to consider and choose the most appropriate technique method or procedure to follow. Work is performed in an office environment where the risks and hazards are minimal known predictable and controllable. Operates standard office equipment such as a personal computer. Work is performed under general supervision where work assignments are subject to instructions and established work routines and the worker is permitted some latitude to set own priorities subject to superiors approval.
