JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Income Statement and Balance Sheet preparation and Analysis
- Balance Sheet account reconciliation
- Revenue auditing and reconciliation
- Prepare Journal Entries for monthly and annual close
- Daily and Monthly cash flow forecasting
- Daily bank reconciliation
- Reconcile multiple bank accounts
- Review financial statements for accuracy
- Record and reconcile mortgages and escrow accounts
- Internal control analysis
- Review Accounts Payable registers and select payments
- Requires strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Assist in training Staff Accounts (current and new)
- Provide guidance and support to Staff Accounts
- Assist Regional Controller with external audit requests
- Identify concerns and work with Regional Controller as needed on tasks and owner requests
- Assist with transition closing entries
- Assist with recruitment efforts for Staff Accountants
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Accounting / Finance or Business EducationMinimum of two (2) years staff accountant experience, orTwo (2) to four (4) years of general accounting experienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong financial and analytical acumenAbility to exercise sound judgment relative to problem solving mattersProficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PC based General Ledger software packages used within the companyAbility to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environmentAbility to perform multiple tasks simultaneously with high degree of accuracyAbility to maintain strict confidentialityImpeccable organizational and time management skillsMust be able to read and write to facilitate the communication processRequires strong communication skills, both verbal and writtenMust be able to apply mathematical operations to tasksMust be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsAbility to maintain compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulationsMaintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel dataDeep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting PrinciplesAbility to handle difficult / sensitive issuesDemonstrated ability to lead a team, improve group morale and remain a positive example to othersThe hiring process may consist of a phone interview, manager(s) interview, drug screen, background check, reference checks, and potential employment assessment.
