or follow us on LinkedIn; Facebook; and Twitter.The Job This position contributes to the success of the Actuarial team by preparing and analyzing data for Medicare bids, maintaining bid models, performing financial projections and contract modeling.You WillPrepare and analyze base period data for the Medicare bids and reconcile it to financials Develop comparisons between actual versus forecast Identify data anomalies and analyze root cause Support ad-hoc analytics such as provider contracting, product development, and other customized projects to suit business needs Utilize the Data Warehouse efficiently to develop reports and extract data fields Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing and contributing to professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societiesAnalyze historical data trends in order to establish reasonable assumptions Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as neededAssist the actuarial team with the development of Medicare Advantage bid pricings by keeping track of various input parameters, testing and reviewing pricing resultsVerify the details of benefits in the bid model vs the Plan Benefit Package filed to CMS to ensure accuracyMaintain models used for the development of Medi-Cal bids and pricing for employer group policy renewalsSupply certain input data to the external consultants and review their deliverablesAssist the financial forecasts of health care costs and the ongoing monitoring of actual resultsAssist with budget & forecast duties to include but not limited to base period data preparation, maintaining model assumptions and model updatesWe seek Rebels who are curious about AI and its power to transform how we operate and serve our members.Actively support the achievement of SCAN's Vision and Goals.Other duties as assigned.Your QualificationsBachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Statistics or any other major with significant quantitative course work or equivalent experience.3-5 years of actuarial experience with healthcare focus, or comparable actuarial consulting experiences.Certifications deemed to be reasonable to function at this level.Performs work under general supervision.Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter.
