Plant Mechanic

ABOUT THIS ROLE

This position is being hired for the Rayville, LA project location. The Plant Mechanic is responsible for maintaining plant equipment in a state of readiness. Performs the appropriate plant production equipment inspections and preventative maintenance. Performs required plant equipment maintenance. Informs manager of conditions that could impact production. Prepares all required daily / weekly department operating reports.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Inspects condition and operation of plant and mobile equipment and performs necessary repairs, adjustments, and preventative maintenance including handling welding repairs. Reports required repairs or other findings to Area Manager.
• Completes work orders in a timely manner; installing, repairing and fabricating materials out of metal; ensuring availability and functioning of required items; and ensuring safety and resolving immediate safety concerns.
• Responsible for preparing and welding steel and aluminum structures, appendages and equipment.
• Conducts routine inspections of plant and mobile equipment and report findings to Area Manager.
• Prepares Plant reports as required and maintain an inventory of regularly used repair supplies or equipment.
• Assists personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
• Responds to emergency situations as needed and / or assigned for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
• Performs required emergency repairs on production equipment required to address plant breakdowns.
• Maintains shop, equipment, tools, vehicles, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items and ensuring safety.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
