Machine Maintenance Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION

Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Basic maintenance and repairs on machines.
  • Cleaning and lubricating machinery.
  • Performing basic diagnostic tests.
  • Checking the performance of the machine.
  • Testing damaged machine parts to determine whether major repairs are necessary.
  • Installing and assembling new machines and equipment.
  • Maintaining a preventative maintenance schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery.
  • Diagnosing and repairing machine failures.
  • Installing replacement parts.
  • Performing regular inspections of machinery and equipment.
  • Carrying out preventative maintenance.
  • Fulfilling other duties such as building maintenance as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A degree in engineering with mechanical specialty is preferred.
  • At least two years of cognitive and vocational experience in handling machine and machine parts is required.
  • Must exhibit outstanding ability to learn and comprehend the fundamentals of the functioning of machine tools.
  • Ability to illustrate general maintenance requisite and simple procedures for operation of various types of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Excellent general understanding of CNC controls and schematics.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and to meet deadlines is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Ability to read and understand regulations and procedures is required.
  • Ability to use manual machines (i.e. lathes, mill, surface grinder).
  • Willing to travel.
