Primary Purpose
The Data & Operations Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of organizational data. By rigorously evaluating the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of CME activity and other operational data, this position transforms validated data into actionable analyses, visualizations and reports, empowering leadership and stakeholders to make strategic, data-driven decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the integrity, completeness and accuracy of CME Program and Activity data reported by accredited organizations.
Track and monitor data reported by accredited organizations on an ongoing basis.
Design and perform data quality checks.
Identify, investigate, and resolve data discrepancies by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Assist accredited organizations in understanding data reporting requirements byresponding to questions, preparing written guides and instructions, and providing training as needed.
Support the use of ACCME systems by recognized accreditors to fulfill their data reporting requirements.
Support organizational planning through compilation and analysis of operational data.
Compile and maintain operational data sets.
Conduct operational analyses to identify opportunities for increased efficiency, cost savings, and improved outcomes.
Analyze trends, prepare forecasts, and contribute to the development of budgets and resource plans.
Prepare clear, actionable reports and dashboards to communicate the value of CME and support decision-making.
Oversee the compilation of CME Program and Activity data into reports that summarize the size and scope of the CME System.
Prepare data visualizations, dashboards, and / or reports for ACCME leadership, collaborating organizations and other stakeholders that measure progress towards operational goals.
Develop financial models and analyses that support the development of new services and strategic decision-making.
Support ACCME research projects prioritized by leadership and completed in collaboration with other institutions.
Lead or participate in process improvement initiatives.
Document and implement procedures that enhance data quality, reporting, and operational effectiveness.
Work collaboratively with others to define and implement ACCME data system improvements.
Use software and functional solutions to automate business processes and improve efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Operations, Accounting, Information Technology, Business) or equivalent experience.
23 years of professional experience in data analysis, operational planning, or a related field.
Service orientation with a desire to work for a mission-focused organization.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy, integrity, and continuous improvement.
Demonstrated ability to evaluate data quality and validate data sets.
Demonstrated ability to create charts, graphs, dashboards and other analyses that communicate findings effectively.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear operational insights.
Experience supporting or training end-users on data or operational systems.
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work collaboratively across teams.
Knowledge of non-profit and / or association business operations.
Knowledge of CME accreditation, and ACCMEs data systems (PARS / JA-PARS), is desirable but not required.
Skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, lookups, and macros); experience with other data analysis and planning tools (e.g., Power BI, Power Query, or Tableau) is a plus.
Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint (for presenting data), and Outlook for communication and documentation.
Ability to extract, manipulate and analyze data from relational databases using SQL is a plus.
Location
This is a hybrid position.Position is required to work in ACCMEs offices at 401 N. Michigan, Chicago, IL60611 at least two days per week (currently Tuesdays and Thursdays).
