Unit : 6SW Post Critical - Cardiac Stepdown

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse

Start Date : December 8, 2025

End Date : March 9, 2026

Duration : 13-week travel nurse contract

Shift : 12-hour nights, 3 shifts per week

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1880 - $2020

Patient Ratio : 1 : 5

Patient Population : CHF, Cardiac Angiogram pre / post care, Ablation, Pacemaker, TEE, Cardioversion, Stroke, Cardiac Drip Management

EMR : Cerner Powerchart

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN experience

At least 1 completed travel nursing contract

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa or Compact State

Certifications : ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS

Proficient in titrating cardiac drips (Nitro, Amiodarone, Cardiazem, Nirdipine, Heparin, Lidocaine)

Willingness to float within the same nursing discipline across local campuses

Must reside more than 50 miles from Sioux City, Iowa

Submission of work history / resume, recent skills checklist (within 1 year), license verification, required certifications, and one supervisory reference

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown and post-critical care patients

Monitor and manage patients with cardiac conditions, including CHF, post-angiogram, ablation, pacemaker, TEE, and cardioversion

Administer and titrate cardiac drips as required for patient safety

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Accurately document patient care in Cerner Powerchart EMR

Float to other cardiac or stepdown units within the same discipline as needed

Participate in required holiday coverage (must work 2 of 3 major winter holidays)
