A Critical Care / Trauma Physician is required for two low-volume emergency departments in Alabama looking for moonlighting opportunities. The job involves providing solo physician coverage during various shifts, managing patient care with assistance from RNs or LPNs, and stabilizing trauma patients for transfer. This position includes available physician quarters, a well-equipped emergency room, and a structured schedule of 12 to 48-hour shifts.

Two Low Volume Emergency Departments in AL are seeking Docs to moonlight . please help!

Hospital T : This hospital is located approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour from Montgomery & Auburn and 1 hr. 45 min. from Birmingham.

Shifts can be 12, 24, or 36 hrs.

Shift times are 7a-7a

Census : Avg. 20 patients in 24 hours / 7-8k annual visits

EMR is implemented

Physician quarters available while on duty.

Hospital C : The facility is located approximately 1-1 / 2 hr. from Montgomery and an hour from Jackson.

Shifts can be 12, 24, 36 or 48 hrs.

Shift times are 6am-6am

Avg. # of patients during a 24 hr. period 11-12 / approx. 6k annual visits

Trauma patients are stabilized and transferred to nearby facilities

Solo physician coverage assisted with either 2 RNs or 1 RN / 1 LPN

X-ray, CT & Lab on site and always staffed

Remote radiologist reads all CT s and X-rays

EMR : implemented

ER has a very private physician suite that offers a bed, shower, refrigerator, etc.
