Medical Assistant - Dermatology

Full-Time - 40 Hours - 9A-5 : 30PM Monday-Friday, Weekends as needed. Location : New Center One - 3031 W. Grand Blvd Detroit MI 48202.

General Summary : Under direct supervision of the provider and nursing leadership, the Medical Assistant performs a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to assist in the quality and compassionate care provided to patients.

Responsibilities :

• Greet and assist patients upon arrival
• Obtain and record patient medical histories and vital signs
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist physicians during exams
• Administer medications and injections as directed by a physician
• Perform basic lab tests and collect / prep lab specimens
• Schedule patient appointments and manage medical records
• Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and handle patient correspondence
• Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of medical instruments and exam rooms
• Provide patient education and instructions on medical procedures or care
• Assist in minor surgical procedures and wound care
• Manage inventory and order medical supplies as needed
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
