Job Title : Prep Cook- Senior Meals

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Putting People First

  • Serve as a key leader in building a cohesive delivery team that centered on Foodlink values, quality customer service and safety.
  • Follows the communication feedback loop created by the reporting director to disseminate organizational information to team members and deliver information from the team to leadership as needed.
  • Keep up to date Operations Manuals of SOPs that can be used as a training tool to create a culture of consistency.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to the team.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Work closely with colleagues and reports to ensure a continuous flow of information resulting in fewer errors and more accurate deliveries.

Fleet & Delivery

  • Review, update, standardize and enforce all processes related to truck loading, customer service, volunteer driver support and delivery.
  • Create and maintain SOP for ensuring meal and supply counts are accurate before items are loaded for delivery.
  • Confirm all items have been loaded for delivery and that nothing is left behind.
  • Work closely with kitchen leadership and drivers to create smart routes at the start of each menu season.
  • Complete an analysis of truck and route capacity to set projections for new accounts with current assets, and build out growth plans for future.
  • Continually try to create operational efficiencies to save time or money, limiting driver downtime.
  • Oversee regular maintenance and repairs of all vehicles.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance and inspections.
  • Ensure vehicles are compliant with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Work closely with the Distribution Center Delivery Manager, Curbside Manager, Facilities and Safety to build synergy around all fleet and drivers including but not limited to cross training, repairs and maintenance, driver trainings, safety and compliance processes.
  • Food Safety, Quality Assurance & Compliance

    Present during expediting time as needed.

    Assist with maintaining proper documentation for CACFP, SFSP, NSLP, HAACP, and internal food safety and quality tracking that is required for delivery.

    Ensure all daily driver logs are completed by all drivers.

    Maintains a clean, safe, sanitary dock area and fleet of trucks.

    Additional Responsibilities

  • Oversees volunteers who sign up for delivery routes.
  • Act as a role model and mentor to delivery drivers.
  • Hold team accountable for executing their work to the highest standard.
  • Exemplifies the "Foodlink Way" on a daily basis.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
  • Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

  • 5 years comparable experience in managing teams of 5 or more
  • Strong knowledge of routing and logistics
  • Prior driving experience a plus
  • ServeSafe certified (level 1 food service manager or supervisor) or ability to pass L1 test
  • Experience working in a fast-paced work environment required
  • Excellent communication both written and oral
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven ability to delegate tasks effectively
  • Must work well with others in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience and knowledge of quantity food preparation and use of equipment used in food preparation.
  • Ability to withstand a wide range of temperatures in the kitchen.

    Salary and Benefits

    This is a full-time, year-round position paid on a salary basis, ranging from $60,406-$67,585 / year, depending on experience (DOE). Foodlink covers 100% of individual health and dental insurance with the ability to acquire family coverage with pretax dollars. In addition to generous paid time off (PTO), we observe 14 paid holidays throughout the year. Opportunity to contribute to a 401k retirement savings plan upon hire. Eligible for generous employer match after 1 year of service.
