Position Overview

The Biometric Technician (On-Call) supports a government program in your state as part of a dynamic team assisting the United States Citizenship and Immigration (USCIS) Application Support Center (ASC) operations. This is a Casual On-Call position, not full-time or part-time.

Availability and Expectations

  • Expected to be available Monday through Friday, 7 : 45 am to 4 : 15 pm, for substitute coverage.
  • Notification in advance is preferred, but sometimes employees are notified the night before or on the day of need.
  • Hours are not guaranteed; employees work on an "as needed" basis, so steady income cannot be assured.

Responsibilities

  • Complete biometric registration (fingerprints, photographs, signatures) for applicants seeking legal immigration.
  • Verify all entrants are approved applicants or visitors, ensuring adherence to facility procedures.
  • Provide front-line customer service representing HeiTech Services, Amentum, and the US government.
  • Work with the public professionally, displaying a cheerful demeanor, managing applicants with sensitivity and courtesy, and respecting their rights.
  • Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government-issued suitability clearance.
  • Proficiency in speaking and writing English.
  • Ability to stand for the duration of the shift, excluding breaks.
  • Ability to hold and grasp applicants' hands for fingerprinting.
  • Work effectively in a high-paced environment with the public.
  • Basic computer skills and typing ability.
  • Complete biometrics training and certification within 60 days.
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a government clearance.

    Desired Skills

    Ability to speak a foreign language is a plus.
