American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Alamosa, Colorado.

Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring a Critical Care Float RN with ICU and ED experience, requiring an active CO or compact RN license and advanced life support certifications.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a float pool within an acute care hospital setting
  • Will float between ICU, ED, and potentially to a sister facility within 15 minutes
  • Patient ratios are 1 : 2 in assigned units
  • Procedures include para / thoracentesis, intubation, central line and art line placement, dysrhythmia management, and ventilated patient care
  • Uses MediTech Expanse charting system
  • Night shift schedule : three 12-hour shifts per week (18 : 00-06 : 00)
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirement
  • May respond to rapid response calls as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • First-time travelers with adequate relevant experience will be considered
  • Candidates are required to provide documentation of required certifications and two supervisor references from the last 18 months
  • Flu vaccination required during flu season (October 1 - March 31)
  • Scrub color is based on employee preference
  • Local candidates are accepted
  • Only one time-off request allowed, with restrictions against RTO within the first two weeks and no full calendar weeks off

  • Active CO or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU and ED RN experience required
  • Certifications required : ACLS, BLS, and PALS; NIHSS and TNCC preferred
  • Must be proficient in managing ventilated patients and performing specialized procedures listed
  • Experience using MediTech Expanse, Paragon, or Practice Partner preferred
