The Aerospace Corporation is hiring a Cloud Native Developer Undergrad Intern position for the Datacentric Platforms and Architectures Department (DPAD) within the Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD).Position will be full-time and 100% onsite at our office in Chantilly, VA.

Job Summary

Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD)staff couple the latest in information system technologies, such as elastic compute clouds, containerization, microservices, real-time operating systems, and visualization frameworks, with expertise in cyber security, software architecture, software engineering, data science, Artificial Intelligence, process improvement, and software development to deliver responsive, resilient, high-performance software intensive systems to our Intelligence Community, DoD, and civilian customers.

DPAD develops cloud-based, scalable, and resilient data analysis pipelines, tools and platforms to enable the full exploitation of historical and streaming data sets for a variety of civil and national security space customers. What You'll Be Doing

Developing cloud native applications to solve some of the toughest problems currently facing the space enterprise.

Working with and learning from a group of developers and subject matter experts to support a broad array of space-related projects and advance your own skills.

Leveraging the cloud to provide data engineering and data architecture solutions as our customers' data volumes continue to grow at exponential rates.

Interfacing with project leaders, product owners, and customers to convey your key contributions to a project.

Working closely with National Security Space, United States Space Force, and other Department of Defense customers

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements :

Currently enrolled full-time in a bachelor's program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.

Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a degree program full-time after completion of the internship.

Minimum GPA of 3.0

Intermediate programming ability in Python and / or Java

Ability to containerize an application using Docker.

Hands-on experience with utilizing REST APIs

Ability to use Git for source control.

This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these :

GPAof3.5 or higher

Active security clearance

Experience using FastAPI or Flask (Python) and / or Springboot (Java) to develop microservices.

Ability to create REST APIs

Ability to deploy applications to Kubernetes.

Hands-on experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud

Intermediate programming ability in C, C++, Rust, and / or Go.

Ability to create and deploy Helm charts.

Familiarity with CI / CD and DevSecOps concepts and / or practical experience

Hands-on experience with relational, non-relational, time series, and / or graph databases
