We are growing quickly and are looking for an In-House Paralegal to join our Legal team. The In-House Paralegal will be responsible for providing legal support to the Corporate Counsel and legal department for all documents and matters related to corporate and legal compliance, litigation support and other operational matters.This role will support an in-house corporate legal department, performing duties such as managing calendars, reviewing and responding to mail, collecting documentation, and conducting basic online research.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Work with internal legal teams, external advisors and third-party partners on a variety of legal matters.
- Coordinate with outside counsel on transaction documents, signature pages, and organization of same.
- Handle client, customer, and internal staff communication via phone, email, and in-person interactions
- Stay up-to-date with corporate filings in various states, establishing new entities as needed and updates to organizational charts.
- Communicate and educate legal policy to internal staff and managers on an as-needed basis.
- Research new items, topics, and issues online, presenting findings to legal department leadership
- Support attorneys by drafting legal documents or contracts as needed
- Additional tasks and projects as directed
You'll also learn about and participate in functions like :
Managing a foreclosure caseload for the default servicing / legal team including interfacing with foreclosure counsel and investors.Communicating with borrowers who are in default and make recommendations as to when it may be appropriate to delay a foreclosure file referral when the borrower is close to payoff or reinstatement.Overseeing management of real estate owned properties (REO) including interfacing with investors to obtain contractor bid approvals, establish marketing plans and assist in facilitating closings.Reviewing and approve invoices from outside counsel handling foreclosure actions.Required Skills :
Ability to use MS Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe and other document processing platforms.Exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal.Experience with TMO, Willow and / or Noteflow is a plus.Required Experience :
At least 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal.Experience with invoicing or billing hours is ideal.Experience with foreclosure actions, mortgage licensing and compliance is a plus.Education :
HS Diploma or equivalent requiredParalegal certification or equivalent requiredSchedule :
