The position involves caring for medical neurological patients. A centralized cardiac monitoring department provides monitoring surveillance for patients. Staff will be scheduled for six-week periods with self-assisted scheduling. The candidate is required to float across all facilities as needed. There is a requirement for one holiday and one evening shift during the holiday period. The greatest need for day shift coverage is on designated holidays. Minimum of two years of experience is required for this position. All candidates must be prepared to take a pass / fail EKG exam during compliance. Candidates will have two attempts to pass the exam. Additional experience with managing cardiac drips (no titration) and telemetry is expected. The patient demographics include adults with various neurological conditions. The unit will have a daily census of approximately 30 patients. Interdisciplinary support includes multiple medical services such as IV teams, physical therapy, and pharmacy. Candidates should familiarize themselves with potential patient diagnoses including stroke, seizure disorders, and traumatic brain injury. Additionally, knowledge of specific equipment and procedures relevant to the unit is necessary. Candidates must adhere to a full compliance file requirement prior to the start date, including education verification. All candidates will be subject to float as necessary.
