Job description353 Fairmont Blvd., Rapid City, SD Level II Trauma Center Level III NICU Level II Pediatric Trauma On the Journey to Magnet Status Designation Primary Stroke and Chest Pain Center Teaching Hospital 417 Beds General Information : Beds : Department runs 10 ORs M-F 0700-1500 20 Pre-Op bays 14 PACU bays Required Experience : 2 years of OR - Level 1 or 2 trauma experience Will you accept a first-time traveler? No - manager approval to offer Travelers must live > Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler Patient Types : Surgical (Urology / Neuro / Ortho / Robotic / General / Podiatry / ENT / Gynecology / Trauma) Patient Ratios : OR 1 : 1 Pre-Op 1 : 2 PACU Phase I - 1 : 1 or 1 : 2, based on acuity PACU Phase II - 1 : 2-3 Required Certifications : RN : BLS, ACLS Required Education : Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing Skills required : RN : Ortho-Trauma (ORIF, Ex fix, Amputations), Neuro (Craniotomy, Spinal), General, Robotics (Davinci XI, SP, DV5) Surgical experience in a tertiary care center Support on the Unit : Surgery RN / First Assist / Surg Tech Nurse Clinician CRN Service Line Lead x2 HUC Scheduler Preference Card Analyst OR Techs x 1 / case Anesthesia Pre-Op / PACU RN / Nurse Aide (6) Nurse Clinician CRN x 3 Charting System / Equipment : EPIC - please let CRT know if traveler does not have EPIC experience so they can ask approval Omnicell Alaris Floating : If yes, where? As needed to (Endo); (PreOp / PACU / Floor) - if floated out of peri-op services, will be as helping hands Orientation : (facility and unit) 1 week Scheduling : Weekend rotation - If position is posted as weekend only and on call, every 3rd weekend Call : Ideally, one overnight per week 7p-7a and every 3rd weekend Fri 1500 - Mon 0700 This is subject to change as needs change within the department Sleep room will be in Pre-Op / PACU area as it will be closed Couches in break room 15 min response time Holiday Expectations : 2 / 4 major holidays Approval of time off? Reach out to Manager for approval. May volunteer low census without pay.
