Travel RN Job Details Position : Travel Med / Surg Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty : Medical-Surgical (Med / Surg), Ortho Location : Marion, IL 62959 (Southern Illinois healthcare jobs) Unit : 36-bed Med / Surg / Ortho Contract Length : 20 weeks Start Date : September 15, 2025 Guaranteed Hours : 36 per week Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM) Weekend / Holiday : Every other weekend; holidays as scheduled Float : To ED / ICU for medical holds only Scrub Color : Navy Blue Estimated Weekly Salary : $1910 - $2040 Med / Surg RN Qualifications Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (no pending or temporary licenses) American Heart Association BLS certification Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience EPIC charting experience required Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing required; BSN preferred Confident, independent, and adaptable RN Willingness to work every other weekend and holidays as needed Applicants must reside outside a 40-mile radius of Marion, IL Registered Nurse Responsibilities Provide high-quality patient care in a 36-bed Med / Surg / Ortho unit Manage a patient ratio of 6 : 1 Float to Emergency Department (ED) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for medical holds as needed Demonstrate adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced healthcare environment Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC electronic health records Participate in scheduled holiday and weekend rotations Experience the charm of Southern Illinois while making a difference as a travel Med / Surg RN.
