We are looking for a detail-oriented Grant Accountant to join our team in Los Angeles, California. This long-term contract position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a non-profit organization by managing grant-related financial processes and ensuring compliance with funding requirements. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting systems, financial reporting, and grant management.
Responsibilities :
- Manage all aspects of grant accounting, including tracking funding, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
- Utilize accounting software systems such as Abila MIP to maintain accurate financial records and streamline reporting processes.
- Conduct regular audits to verify proper allocation of grant funds and adherence to organizational policies.
- Collaborate with program managers and other departments to develop budgets and monitor expenditures.
- Handle cash activity and capital management tasks, ensuring the accurate recording of all transactions.
- Prepare detailed reports on grant performance and financial status for internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor and reconcile accounts related to grants to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Work closely with external auditors during grant audits and provide necessary documentation.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes impacting grant accounting.
- Proven experience in grant accounting within a non-profit or similar environment.
- Proficiency with accounting software systems, including Abila MIP, ADP Financial Services, and Bloomberg Terminal.
- Strong understanding of budgeting processes and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with auditing procedures and compliance standards.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
