Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department position with strong preference for travel and trauma experience.
Responsibilities
Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I trauma, teaching, and acute care hospitalPatient ratio is typically 1 : 5Care for high-acuity cases including a large number of ED admits and holding patientsShifts are 12 hours, with options for 36 or 48 hours per week, primarily nights (19 : 00-7 : 30)Weekend work is scheduled as needed, with weekends defined as Friday through Sunday nights and Saturday / Sunday daysFloating to Adult Progressive Care Units (PCUs) may be required based on staffing needs; floating to Pediatric ED is optionalMay float to ED Holding and Trauma areas depending on department needsCerner EMR is usedNo on-call requirementPrimary responsibilities include medication administration, IV therapy, and documentation per clinical standardsAssignment is 13 weeks in durationBlack scrubs required, not providedFirst-time travelers will be considered if they have 2+ years Level I trauma experienceNo block scheduling availableRequests for more than 7 days off require pre-approvalFree parking is available onsiteRequirements
Valid NM or compact RN license (can be pending at time of consideration)Minimum of 2 years of recent ER experience required; 1.5 years considered with strong backgroundLevel I trauma experience strongly preferredCurrent certifications required : ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC (must have TNCC before consideration), NIHSS (can be pending until start)COVID-19 vaccination required; medical or religious exemptions accepted with formal documentationNo candidates living within 75 miles of the facilityBenefits
