About The Position

Postpartum / Mother-Baby Registered Nurse (PP / MB RN) – Per Diem

Downey Medical Center | $75 / hr | 12hr Night Shifts (7 : 15 PM -7 : 45AM)

Shift Schedule :  Minimum 1 shift / week

Start Date :  August 12

Orientation :  will be held every Monday with one unit shift in the same week.

Assignment Type :  Per Diem

Pay Rate :  $75 / hour

About the Role :

Downey Medical Center is seeking experienced and compassionate  Postpartum / Mother-Baby Registered Nurses  to join our per diem team. This role is perfect for clinicians who thrive in a nurturing, fast-paced environment and are passionate about supporting mothers and newborns during the critical postnatal period.

Key Responsibilities :

• Monitor physical and emotional recovery of new mothers post-delivery
• Provide newborn care including assessments, vital signs, and feeding support
• Educate mothers and families on newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery
• Administer prescribed medications and manage IV therapy
• Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, lactation consultants, and the broader care team
• Perform ongoing assessments and document care in EPIC
• Respond promptly to maternal or neonatal emergencies
