Job Title : RN - MedSurg / Tele Profession : Registered Nurse Specialty : Medical / Surgical / Telemetry Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift : 36 Experience : Minimum 18 months of Med / Tele experience License : Required RN license Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have : - General Med / Tele skillset - Stroke experience / NIH assessments - Chest tube management - PIV starts - Trach care - Cardiac rhythm interpretation - NGT placement - Drain / tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion / management) - PCA pumps - Medication gtt management to include cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, IVF Description : We are seeking a registered nurse for a Medical / Surgical / Telemetry unit. The unit has 27 beds and an average census of 20 patients. The patient population includes individuals with stroke, COPD, chest pain, altered mental status, and GI bleed. The patient ratios are 1 RN to 5 patients. CNA support is available on the unit for duties including inserting foleys and removing IVs, as well as vital signs and ADLs. Charge nurses may or may not have a patient assignment. The technology used includes Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitors. Nursing staff may be required to float within the region based on needs. Travelers will be paid for time spent traveling between facilities during mid-shift floats. Weekend rotation is expected every other week. Travelers will work 75% of holidays and may request up to 6 days off, excluding holidays. The schedule cycle is every 6 weeks.
