We are currently hiring for an experienced and dedicated Student Success Coach to join our growing team at Joyce University. This position operates within a student success model focused on proactive outreach, interventions, and relationship development to improve student success outcomes. The Student Success Coach will maintain a data-driven focus on developing student support modalities, targeting developmental needs with a goal of increasing student retention and persistence.

WHAT YOU DO EVERYDAY :

  • Proactively utilize technology, data, predictive analytics, and reporting tools to identify and target learning support services to provide resources and coaching that improve student retention, persistence, and completion.
  • Coordinate and deliver holistic coaching services tailored to individual student needs, to cultivate relationships and deliver support that develops skills, behaviors, and habits that help students succeed at Joyce University
  • Develops and implements proactive educational programs for individuals or small groups that align with organizational goals including :
  • Student Academic Skills : goal-setting, time management, and organization, academic planning, study strategies, overcoming academic challenges, adult learning, self-regulation and self-efficacy, emotional / mental health, etc.
  • Content-specific areas : board exam preparation and support from pre-enrollment through licensure, math, science, writing, and other general education course support, program core course support including remediation sessions, etc.
  • Learning technology : workshops and services to ensure student success with all aspects of technology used by the University
  • Collaborates with faculty and staff to provide support to students in need of additional academic assistance including :
  • Course remediation activities
  • Provide ongoing and individualized academic success coaching to students
  • Maintain clear and concise notes to document supports, services, referrals, resources, and interventions provided to individual students. In addition, proactively share notes and observations with other campus service providers where this information can inform additional outreach and support
  • Student Success Coaches may be assigned to an area of specialty to directly target equity gaps. These include but are not limited to, academically vulnerable populations, historically underrepresented higher education populations, and students pursuing specific programs or courses.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the Learning Support Center and the greater university community by participating in team-based committee work, departmental / program planning, and other discipline and University-related activities as requested
  • Regular attendance during normal scheduled hours is required. Being present is essential for serving students and performing the essential functions of this position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Requirements :

    EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :

  • Terminal degree (PhD or professional doctorate) from a regionally accredited institution required.
  • CNE and HN-BC certification preferred.
  • Minimum three years of experience in higher education related to faculty development and coaching.
  • Experience working with faculty expectations, national standards, guidelines for faculty development, and evidence-based processes for mentoring and coaching faculty.
  • Experience with project management involving multi-step, outcomes-based collaborative projects.
  • Experience developing undergraduate and graduate higher education courses, curriculum / assessment mapping, and assessment rubric development.
  • Experience participating in institution and / or programmatic accreditation processes (CCNE, ACEN, ACOTE)
  • Experience leading and participating in program evaluation processes.
  • Minimum five years of master's or doctoral teaching experience, preferably online.
  • Experience developing and delivering faculty workshops.
  • Experience with web-based project management platforms (Asana preferred).
  • Experience with learning management systems (Canvas preferred).
  • Evidence of scholarly work includes current scholarly publications, peer-reviewed journals, and professional presentations.
  • Experience with leadership roles in national organizations and service on university-wide committees.
