Chief civil engineer Must haves : PE in NC 7+ years of experience Management of multiple projects Client facing experience No directors Local candidates only but open to relocation for the right candidate No engineers from utilities companies No municipal engineers working for cities towns No engineers that went into sales or plan review and want to get back into this world RESPONSIBILITIES Independently lead and manage the Charlotte engineering department. Oversee all phases of land development projects from conception through completion. Manage workflow and tasks on the development of construction drawings, specifications, engineering calculations, and construction services including review of submittals, responding to RFIs, construction inspections, etc. Ensure projects meet all technical specifications, budgets, timelines, and regulatory requirements. Develop and implement best practices, innovative solutions, and quality control measures. Understand all facets of the site design process and delivery including cross-discipline coordination. Develop and foster repeat work from Clients. Support business development efforts. Perform administrative including staff scheduling, proposals writing, billings, and other tasks as needed. Engineer of Record on projects. Regional travel is expected. Qualifications : Qualifications WHAT YOU NEED FOR THIS POSITION Minimum of 10 years of total experience in Land Development design. Direct experience within the Charlotte / Mecklenburg NC market is preferred. Bachelors degree in civil engineering or related degree. PE License is required. Excellent organization, written & communication skills. Ability to manage clients, projects, staff and work in a team environment. Software Proficiency : Microsoft Office products, knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, Hydrology Studio.
