Job Title : Group Therapist / Group Facilitator (Nature Therapy, Adventure Therapy, and Exposure Therapy)

Position Overview :
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Group Therapist or Group Facilitator with expertise in nature therapy, adventure therapy, and exposure therapy to join our team. In this role, you will facilitate therapeutic group sessions that blend nature-based activities and adventure therapy with psychological techniques to help clients process and overcome mental health challenges.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and facilitate group therapy sessions that integrate nature therapy, adventure therapy, and exposure therapy techniques.
- Develop and implement structured programs involving outdoor activities, experiential exercises, and nature-based interventions aimed at building resilience and emotional well-being.
- Guide groups through exposure therapy exercises, helping clients gradually face and process their fears in a controlled, supportive environment.
- Provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive space for individuals to engage in therapeutic outdoor activities, while addressing mental health concerns such as trauma, anxiety, and depression.
- Create personalized therapeutic activities that integrate natural environments and adventure experiences to facilitate healing and growth.
- Collaborate with other therapists, clinical staff, and support teams to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Maintain appropriate documentation of client progress, group dynamics, and therapeutic activities.
- Conduct initial assessments and intake interviews for group participants, tailoring therapy approaches based on individual needs.
- Provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and de-escalation techniques as needed.
- Ensure adherence to all professional, ethical, and safety standards during nature-based activities and group sessions.
Qualifications :
Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, CDCA or a related field.Demonstrated experience in group therapy or group facilitation, especially involving nature therapy, adventure therapy, or exposure therapy.Strong knowledge of therapeutic modalities and techniques related to nature-based interventions, experiential therapies, and exposure therapy.Ability to work in outdoor settings and facilitate physical and emotional healing through nature-based practices.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage clients in a supportive and empathetic manner.Comfort and experience working in adventurous or outdoor settings, including managing logistics for outdoor group activities.Experience with diverse populations and sensitivity to varying cultural and mental health needs.Ability to assess group dynamics and modify therapy interventions accordingly.Physical fitness and willingness to engage in outdoor adventures as part of the therapy process (e.g., hiking, nature walks, outdoor team-building exercises).Preferred Qualifications :
Certification or training in nature therapy, adventure therapy, or exposure therapy techniques.Experience with trauma-informed care and other therapeutic approaches for clients in recovery.Why Join Us?
