Job description

Interviewing Clerk - 60050513

This is an open, competitive, Career Service opportunity. Location : Riviera Beach.

Typical Duties

  • Determines eligibility for expedited food assistance services;
  • Explains eligibility to applicants and recipients applying / receiving public assistance;
  • Enters client data into database based on intake of caller information;
  • Maintains necessary files and records;
  • Completes general clerical duties including using computer to input data of clients who are applying for public assistance benefits;
  • Answers phones;
  • Uses photocopy machine, scanner and other office equipment;
  • Conducts application registration;
  • Schedules appointments;
  • Performs intake interviews;
  • Conducts statewide clearance and reconciles any discrepancies on all household members;
  • Maintain office email accounts and serves as clerical backup for units.

Minimum Requirements

A high school diploma or its equivalent and two years of clerical or public contact experience. College education from an accredited institution or vocational / technical training can substitute at the rate of 30 semester, 45 quarter or 720 class room hours for each year of the required experience.

State of Florida Employment applications must reflect most current and all previous employment history in order to receive full consideration.

Some Agency positions may require successful completion of pre-interview assessment or work sample to be eligible for interview.

Ability to speak / read / write Spanish / Creole / French or other foreign language may be considered in the selection process.
