Job Summary : The Plant Manager oversees all aspects of manufacturing operations to ensure profitability, adherence to customer specifications, and high-quality standards at Anita’s. They manage department heads to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, maintain a safe working environment, and collaborate with upper management to recommend equipment upgrades and process improvements. The plant manager also supports sales activities by analyzing product costs, attending food shows, and assisting customers as required.

Position Responsabilities :

  • Ensures that Production runs on time and effectively with overall productivity, waste reduction and O.T. hours.
  • KPI’s : Collecting, Analyzing, and Developing Plant Goals.
  • Continuous Improvement, solution-based thinking (problem-solving), and long-term strategic planning.
  • Oversees that all equipment is maintained in good working condition.
  • Ensures that all employees are trained according to each job requirement.
  • Ensures that all the departments are working to full capacity.
  • Develop key employees (supervisors, cooks, lead persons, etc.) The goal is for each department and shift to operate effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Ensures that all departments comply with operating procedures under USDA, FDA, GMP, HACCP, SOP, and OSHA compliance and all environmental regulatory agencies.
  • Schedules staff meetings and needed training for Supervisors and key employees.
  • Enforce company policies consistently with all employees.
  • Work closely with HR on disciplinary options and the development of key employees.
  • Always strive to meet company budgets or fix costs and reduce labor, waste, or anything that will impact the bottom line.
  • Works closely with Sales staff to ensure that costing is effective and profitable.
  • Listen to employees’ problems and suggestions and respond accordingly
  • Develop operating procedures for all departments.
  • Ensure and check that all paperwork is complete and turned in to the various departments as neede.d
  • Communicate to top management all major problems.
  • Develop budgets for all related departments.
  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship with coworkers and management, and be a team player.
  • Work with the Quality Assurance and Sanitation teams to ensure the quality and food safety of all products manufactured.
  • Staying up to date on Manufacturing Best Practices.
  • Any additional duties as needed.
  • Requirements :

  • Minimum 4 years as a Plant Manager in food manufacturing.
  • College degree, 4-year degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of Safety and Labor Laws.
  • Lean Certified, Green belt, Six Sigma minimum. Black belt is a PLUS.
  • Strong Formal Lean Background is a must.
  • Ability to rotate shifts based on Plant needs.
  • 4 years of experience with food manufacturing equipment / machinery.
  • Must be able to generate company documents and maintain all existing records.
  • Advanced computer skills are required, as well as Microsoft Excel / Word.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to :

  • Stand and walk for extended periods
  • Walk on uneven ground and wet or slippery floors
  • Twisting, turning, kneeling, stooping, and bending most of the day
  • May be required to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Exposure to spices (allergens), including but not limited to soy and wheat
  • Exposure to high noise levels and a high heat environment
  • PPE - Slip resistant shoes, hair and beard net, safety glasses and ear plugs are required in the food manufacturing work areas, gloves are recommended.
