The Shipping and Receiving Clerk verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.

Counts, weigh and measures items in incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other recordsDetermines the method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and ratesSelects containers and assembles if necessaryPacks items into containers, using the appropriate spacers, fillers, and protective paddingSecures container and applies proper shipping labelsPost weights and shipping charges and affixes postageUnpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortagesEnsures that outgoing shipments meet specificationsOperates tier-lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist loads for shipping and receiving platform to storage or work areaReceives damaged or defective goods returned to the establishmentReceives unsold products returned by the Parts DriverAny other duties as assigned by managementQualifications
