Assistant Professor of Exercise Science

Position Announcement

The Department of Health and Human Performance at Utah Tech University in St. George, Utah, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Exercise Science to start January 2026 (Spring Semester) or August 2026 (Fall Semester). This position directly supports the Exercise Science degree programs, which include pre-Physical Therapy (PT), pre-Occupational Therapy (OT), and pre-Athletic Training (AT) emphases. Candidates with a specialization in Sport and Exercise Psychology, Motor Development, and Exercise Programming for Special or At-Risk Populations are preferred but consideration will be given to all qualified applicants. Responsibilities

• Teach 24 credits per academic year, primarily in-person, but with online teaching options. Instruction may include a combination of classroom / lab teaching and / or internship supervision.

Courses may include but are not limited to Sport and Exercise Psychology, Motor Development, Exercise Programming for At-Risk Populations, Applied Fitness Development for Older Adults, and other Exercise Science related courses.

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS : Full-time (9-month) tenure-track faculty position. Faculty service begins August 2026, with pay and benefits starting July 1, 2026. Annual salary of $61,000-$66,000 depending on qualifications and experience, with additional compensation available for optional summer / overload teaching.
