Performs occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist. Keeps treatment skills updated through continuing education, evidence-based research and program development. Performs job responsibilities in accordance with the program's strategic objectives and goals to carry out organizational strategic objectives.

Demonstrates knowledge and maintains and respects patient right to privacy by following the HIPAA Privacy and Security policies and procedures. Participates in departmental efforts to monitor and report customer service.
Experience in physical disabilities. Preferred. Minimum of two years experience in inpatient rehabilitation. Preferred.
Associate Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. State of Michigan COTA license. Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. Possess and maintain CPR certification to meet department / program protocol (within 6 months of hire).
Effective written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, ability to perform multiple tasks and adapt to changing work situations. Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho / social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients serviced in her / his assigned service area as related to the principle duties and responsibilities of the position. The skills and knowledge needed to provide such care might be gained through education, training and experience.
