About The Position

Job Title : Technologist

Profession : Technologist

Shift : Days

Hours per Shift : 10 Hours Guaranteed

Experience : Minimum of 1 year in Special Procedures or Cath / EP cases

License : State Medical Radiologic License required

Certifications : ARRT or RCIS, ACLS, BLS required

Must-Have :

• Previous experience in a critical care setting (ICU, ED, etc.) or previous Cath / EP Lab setting preferred
• Previous travel experience preferred

Description :

Conduct specialized examinations in cardiac catheterization, peripheral vascular studies, and / or electrophysiology studies.

Serve as a lead worker and resource to medical and clinical staff as needed to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities.

Collaborate with the intra-procedure team to provide safe patient care.

Participate consistently in Universal Protocol and site marking identification when applicable.

Assist with identification, preparation, and draping of patients, and room preparation for routine procedures.

Read physician orders and protocols, and if necessary, communicate with physicians on protocols for routine procedures.

Select equipment in accordance with the protocols and regulatory standards to ensure patient comfort and satisfaction.

Maintain and calibrate equipment, instituting and recording all preventive maintenance procedures.

Troubleshoot and report or seek repair to maintain equipment operability.

Conduct maintenance on special procedures equipment and calibrate such equipment prior to each procedure.

Instruct technologists in the operation of special procedures equipment as needed.

Identify ways to improve work processes and customer satisfaction.

Make recommendations to the supervisor, implement, and monitor results as appropriate.

Stay informed of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field of cardiovascular technology.

Attend seminars and workshops, read professional journals, and participate actively in professional organizations.

Integrate knowledge gained into current work practices.

Maintain knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact cardiovascular technology and the cardiac lab area.

Revise procedures for repeated use of special procedures equipment.

Develop effective internal controls that promote adherence to applicable laws and program requirements.

Seek advice and guidance as necessary to ensure proper understanding.
