Dietician

RATE : $30.00 - $34.00 / hr. (dependent upon experience)

SHIFT : Full-Time, Days

JOB DESCRIPTION :

The Dietician works with the Food Service Director, Diet Technician, and other Dietary personnel to ensure that proper nutritional care is maintained. Communicates and establishes a rapport with other disciplines within the facility. Frequently interact with the residents on a 1 : 1 basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Prepares / oversees an initial nutritional assessment of all admitted residents.
• Participates in assuring that regular and therapeutic diet menus are nutritionally adequate and by the approved facility diet manual.
• Works with the diet technician to coordinate weekly weights, meal patterns, nourishments, meal supplements intake and consistency appropriateness, intake study requirements and result, documentation requirements, transfer / discharge summaries, and tube feed reviews. Reviews, evaluate, and charts (as needed) pertinent lab values.
• Continually counsels and educates the patients, residents, family members, and facility personnel on proper therapeutic and essential nutrition in conjunction with a diet technician.
• Monitors patient / resident meal, nourishment, supplement intake, and consistency appropriateness.
• Make appropriate referrals to OT, Speech Therapist, Dentist, and Nursing staff.
• Works in conjunction with the Food Service Director to ensure that :

Policy and procedures are current and reviewed annually.
