Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift position requiring an active AZ or compact RN license and certification in ACLS, BLS, and PALS.
Responsibilities
Work in a 12-bed Emergency Department within an acute care settingLower acuity patient population (ESI 3-4), including abdominal pain and headache, with a focus on stabilizing and transferring critically ill patientsStaff-to-patient ratio is typically 1 : 4 in the EDUses Cerner EMR and Phillips telemetry equipment12-hour night shifts (7p-7a or 6p-6a), with 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks and coverage for 2 out of 4 major holidaysRequired to float to Litchfield FSED and Glendale FSED when neededOrientation includes 2 days of floor-specific training and participation in a SIMs LabOnsite support from charge nurse, PCTs, paramedics, and an in-house physicianRNs complete all labs, EKGs, patient transport, and transfersTeam-oriented environment with a focus on maintaining a positive culture and supporting teamworkMust maintain natural hair color and have no facial piercings; men must be clean shaven for fit testScrub color is navyAll travelers must have their own vehicle for potential floatingCandidates cannot have been directly employed by CommonSpirit facilities within the past year; PRN via outside agency may be consideredSIMs Lab pass / fail testing is strictly enforced; failure results in ineligibility for 6 months at CommonSpirit AZ / Sacramento facilitiesRequirements
Active AZ RN license or compact state RN license requiredCurrent certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS required; pending certifications not acceptedMinimum of 2 years recent Emergency Department RN experienceMust pass a dysrhythmia (DYS) exam prior to acceptance, with two attempts allowedCompletion of pass / fail skills assessment on sterile technique, Foley, and port-a-cath insertion on day 1 of orientationDriver’s license required for 50-mile radius rule verificationReferences from one supervisor within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years are requiredBenefits
