Laborer (Mechanical)
The purpose of this role is to clean and service (sand and fuel locomotives) and perform general labor and cleanup duties within and around the maintenance facilities.
Minimum Knowledge and Experience :
High school diploma or equivalent requiredSkills :
Communicates successfully with a variety of disciplines and levels, both internal and external staffEstablishes and maintains effective working relationships with supervisors and co-workersPossesses excellent verbal and written skillsBasic computer and networking skillsKey Accountabilities (Essential Job Duties) :
Demonstrates understanding and adheres to the KCS principles of Employee Engagement, Operational Excellence, Safety & Security, and Economic PerformanceCompletes all work in compliance with FRA, MBTA and Keolis Commuter Services standardsCleans shop facilities, locomotive interiors, engine, and HEP rooms, exteriors, and cabsSands, fuels, and stocks locomotivesDistributes materials to work sitesRemoves and / or refuses some hazardous materialsOperates floor sweeping equipment, forklifts, heavy equipment, on rail equipment, tractors, and motor vehiclesComplies with all related safety rules and procedures and reports all hazards as requiredClimbs vertical surfaces to a height of approximately twelve (12) feet and stands on flat surfaces using a fall arrest systemDocuments job tasks or work performed manually or electronically and submits as requiredAttends and participates in all assigned training, specifically safety and security relatedCompletes other duties as assignedRequirements :
A current valid driver’s license is required to successfully travel throughout the Commuter Rail network and locations as assignedTravels and works at all Commuter Rail locations in Massachusetts and Rhode Island in all weather conditionsWorking Conditions (including Physical Demands) :
