Volunteers are the life-blood of hospice. They were there at the founding of the modern hospice and are still with us today as essential members of our care teams.
We are looking for volunteers willing to become companions to our patients or caregivers. Their main tasks are to reduce the loneliness and isolation often felt by hospice patients. Companions bring a special loving touch to Hospice as they are crucial in providing a listening ear, a helping hand, and a friendly presence. They allow the patients time to tell their story or complete tasks that they otherwise could not do themselves, such as reading, writing letters, light housekeeping, games, pet care, and so much more.
