Hourly Pay Range :
$22.14 - $33.21 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
Position Highlights :
Position : Orthopedic Technician - Orthopedics - Days
Location : Lombard, IL
Full Time : 40 hours / week
Office Hours : Monday - Friday 7 : 00 AM - 6 : 00 PM. Schedule will vary.
Travel Required : As needed to Elmhurst and other Orthopedic Offices
What you will do :
Greet patients and assist them in exam rooms.
Perform vital signs and dressing changes.
Fit required durable medical equipment (DME).
Perform cast removal, cast and splint application.
Assist with casting procedures under fluoroscopy.
Communicate with patients over the phone and assist with concerns.
Educate patients on care procedures.
Support physician and office activities.
During downtime, perform some responsibilities of a Medical Assistant, such as rooming patients.
What you will need :
High School Diploma or equivalent; graduate of an accredited medical assistant program preferred.
Current CPR certification required.
Experience with casting is necessary.
Pass the Registered Orthopedic Technologist certification test within 12 months of hire.
Ideal candidates are Medical Assistants with casting experience or responsibilities of an Orthopedic Tech.
One year of experience in a physician practice setting preferred.
Evidence of leadership, problem-solving, effective communication, basic computer skills, and clinical competence.
