MUST HAVE : 10 years of experience in risk management, information security, and IT roles within a larger banking environment.

MUST HAVE : In-depth knowledge of Information Security, Business Continuity Planning, Disaster Recovery Planning, IT Regulatory Requirements, Risk Assessments, Access Management, Change / Configuration Management, Governance, Problem / Incident Management, and Awareness and Training Programs.

MUST HAVE : CISA, CISSP, CISM, CRISC certifications or equivalent experience, with a willingness to obtain and expand certifications.

MUST HAVE : 10 years of supervisory experience, including managing professional leads and groups.

Salary : Pay depends on knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and location.

Sunflower Bank, N.A. is seeking a highly motivated individual for the full-time position of Chief Information Security Officer in Kansas City, MO.

The CISO leads the IT Risk and Governance functions, defining cybersecurity strategy to manage risk, protect data and resources. Responsibilities include managing Information Security, Business Continuity, Change Management, Data Privacy, and ensuring compliance with regulations through policies and procedures. The role also involves physical security oversight, reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, and collaborating with business and IT leaders to implement security solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain enterprise vision, strategy, and programs for information asset protection.
  • Define and oversee strategies and policies related to Information Security and IT Compliance.
  • Ensure security measures meet business needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the Information Security team in threat analysis, vulnerability management, and remediation.
  • Develop security awareness and training programs.
  • Coordinate with IT Management to implement controls and security technologies.
  • Align IT Risk and Governance with overall company risk management.
  • Participate in committees and meetings to promote IT Risk and Governance benefits.
  • Stay current on IT risk practices, technologies, and regulations.
  • Support Response and Recovery efforts, including Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.
  • Evaluate controls for data protection and compliance, including GLBA.
  • Develop physical security policies.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Uphold ethical banking practices and participate in community programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 10 years in risk management, information security, and IT in banking.
  • 10 years supervisory experience managing teams.
  • Certifications : CISA, CISSP, CISM, CRISC or equivalent, with willingness to expand credentials.
  • Deep understanding of Information Security, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, IT Regulatory Requirements, and frameworks like NIST, CIS, COBIT, ITIL.
  • Knowledge of physical security controls.
  • Strong communication skills for interaction with various stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to motivate teams and manage multiple projects.
