Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Plant Safety Manager to lead all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) initiatives at a large chemical manufacturing facility in Houston, TX. This critical leadership role ensures full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, promotes a strong safety culture, and drives continuous improvement in safety performance. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in industrial safety management, emergency preparedness, employee training, and regulatory reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the plant’s health and safety programs, policies, and procedures
Ensure compliance with OSHA and all applicable safety and environmental regulations
Manage incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning
Oversee emergency response planning, coordination of drills, and training of the Emergency Response Team
Conduct regular facility audits, hazard assessments, and workplace inspections to identify and mitigate risks
Lead safety training and orientation programs for employees and contractors
Track and maintain safety metrics and required regulatory documentation
Oversee procurement and maintenance of PPE and safety equipment
Promote a proactive, safety-first culture through employee engagement and communication initiatives

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field required
Professional safety certification preferred
10+ years of safety experience in a chemical manufacturing environment, including at least 5 years in a leadership role
In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, industrial hygiene practices, and risk mitigation strategies
Proven experience leading safety teams and cross-functional initiatives
