Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Resource Float Med / Surg Telemetry position requiring recent Epic experience and prior travel at a teaching hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the Resource Float team covering Medical-Surgical Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units as needed
  • 12-hour night shifts with a rotating schedule including every other weekend
  • Floating to multiple units is required
  • No call responsibilities
  • Travelers must work 2 out of the 4 major holidays : Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Day
  • Epic EMR is used and recent experience within the last 2 years is required
  • Must adapt to schedule adjustments based on unit needs
  • No block scheduling is allowed
  • Holiday coverage is mandatory for assigned holidays
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this assignment

    • Requirements

  • Active VT or compact RN license required
  • Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; NIHSS must be obtained prior to start
  • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience is required
  • Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is nonnegotiable
  • PCCN and orthopedic certifications are preferred
  • Reliable transportation is required due to lack of public transportation in the area
  • Vehicles must be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November through April
