Job Details :

• Work 12-hour shifts : 7 : 00 AM to 7 : 00 PM or 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 00 AM
• Patient ratio of 1 : 4-5
• Every other weekend (EOW) requirement with nights and first to float
• Required to work weekends in rotation with core staff
• Holiday requirement : 1 major and 1 minor holiday
• Travel experience required
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to signing COA (2 attempts allowed)
• Must be prepared to float to sister facility in Laveen
• Pass / fail testing on Day 1 - SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Complete lifts, restraints, and wound care education
• Floor specific orientation provided
• Floating required within facility
• Navy scrubs required
• Required certifications : ACLS and BLS
• Work with telemetry and medical / surgical patients including neurology, cardiology, urology, ortho, general surgery, renal, pulmonology, and infectious disease
• Use Cerner EMR system
• May be assigned as charge nurse
• Work with PCT / nursing aides on days and nights
• May draw labs when phlebotomy department has sick calls
• BSN not required
• Cancellation policy : 4 shifts per contract or 3 shifts if contract is under 13 weeks

Facility :

This acute care hospital operates a 46-bed inpatient telemetry unit providing comprehensive medical and surgical services. The facility offers 24 / 7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy services, with hospitalist coverage but no in-house intensivist. The hospital maintains high standards for nursing competency, particularly in sterile technique and fundamental nursing skills, with mandatory skills validation through simulation labs for all nursing staff.
