Under direction from the IT Infrastructure Support Manager, the Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of the Life Flight Network infrastructure. Candidate will be part of the infrastructure team that is responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet business uptime requirements. On-call time and travel will be required.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on Computer Science or Management Information Systems, direct IT experience may be substituted year for year
- Cisco, Azure, AWS, and VMware certifications preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience supporting a multi node, multi-site, IP network
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
- Windows Server experience preferred
- SonicWALL and / or Fortinet experience preferred
- Knowledge of HIPAA and SOX
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Configure, maintain, and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS, and virtual appliances hosted on the private or public cloud)VMware vSphere administrationCisco Catalyst and Nexus administrationSonicWALL firewall and SMA administrationPerform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurationsMonitor performance and ensure system availability and reliabilityDesign, implement, and test disaster recovery solutionsLeverage automation tools to standardize network configurationsProvide Level-2 / 3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issuesWork within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructureLiaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolutionIP Protocols (DHCP, SMTP, TCP / IP)KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS :
