The Payroll Consultant is responsible for providing the quality, audit and controls related to HR Master data, timekeeping, and payroll processing with a primary focus on accuracy and in compliance with all legal / government regulations.

What you will do :

  • Audit / Compliance : Manage quality and audits related to data entry, data intake, and payroll processing ensure compliance with company policy and legal regulations.
  • Timekeeping : Sign off on time data upon completion of completed reviews.
  • Stakeholder Management : Collaborate with applicable vendors, Finance, Tax, Business Continuity, Legal, and Internal Audit.
  • Reporting : Manage required reporting as needed for internal and external auditors and government entities, as well as departmental metrics.
  • Process Management : Collaborate with HRIS regarding new system functionality, testing, training, etc.
  • Documentation : Responsible for reporting, audit, controls related user documentation.
  • End Customer Support : Manage the associated process email box and internal customer ticket issues & questions and their resolution.
  • Continuous Improvement : Make recommendations of process improvements and manage projects and plans.
  • Expertise : Maintains knowledge of and ensures compliance with all applicable laws, including ACA, ERISA, FLSA, state, and local laws.

What you will need :

  • A degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field OR equivalent payroll experience.
  • Payroll / Industry certifications preferred.
  • 4+ yrs of direct Payroll, HR Service Center, and or Ledger / Accounting / Tax experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality as well as exercise sound judgment.
  • Adept at handling multiple competing priorities and responsibilities in a fast-paced, results driven environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of state and federal laws / regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and decision-making skills.
  • Salary Band : 05A

    This selected candidate will be expected to work hybrid in Indianapolis, IN. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team-building and collaboration.
