POSITION SUMMARY : As an Operating Room Registered Nurse, you will utilize the nursing process to provide exceptional patient-centered care. You will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care, effectively communicate clinical conditions, and respond swiftly to changes in patient status.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION : You must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program and possess a valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Connecticut. Certification in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is required upon hire.
EXPERIENCE : Previous experience in surgical or labor and delivery environments, specifically assisting with C-sections, is required.
COMPETENCIES : Strong communication skills in English (both verbal and written) and basic computer proficiency are essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Conduct comprehensive assessments and re-assessments of patients' conditions and care needs.Collaborate with the surgical team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.Ensure medication safety by following the five medication rights and demonstrating knowledge of medications.Provide patient care in a manner that ensures safety and positive outcomes, adhering to protocols for patient identification and surgical procedures.Document all care processes and patient responses in a timely and accurate manner.Exhibit flexibility and organizational skills, effectively managing stress and prioritizing tasks.Pursue ongoing personal and professional development and serve as a role model and mentor.Ensure accurate communication regarding patient condition for safe transfers of care.Prepare the surgical environment with necessary instruments and assist the team in maintaining aseptic technique.Effectively communicate critical information to the surgical team regarding counts of sponges, needles, and instruments.Handle specimens properly and function effectively in the scrub role.By joining ECHN, you're becoming part of a passionate community dedicated to providing outstanding healthcare.
