Introduction Water Planning : Gain real work experience and collaborate with talented professionals in the Water Quality, Water Quantity, Water Monitoring, and Watershed Groups within the Water Planning and Management Division. Work on water planning projects, analyze data, evaluate environmental conditions, and support various units including Water Quality, Water Quantity, and Watersheds. Job Purpose This limited duration role involves performing various seasonal tasks related to water and environmental management, including data entry, analysis, report writing, literature searches, public outreach, and attending meetings. Key Responsibilities Data entry and organization Data analysis Developing Story Maps and interactive online maps Writing memos and reports Conducting literature searches Public outreach Organizing project documents Attending meetings (virtual, in-person, or offsite) Assisting in report and environmental review development Performing related duties as assigned Qualifications Must follow instructions effectively. Preferred qualifications include experience or coursework in water quality, biology, ecology, toxicology, hydrogeology, data science, GIS, environmental planning / science, and proficiency with MS Office, GIS, R, or Python. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license. Special Requirements May include first aid certification, valid driver’s license, pesticide license, college training, EMT certification, or lifeguard certification, depending on the position. Some roles may require additional certifications or licenses. Physical Requirements Must have adequate physical strength and stamina; lifeguard roles require demonstrating Red Cross lifeguarding swimming skills.
