Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Hermitage, TN 37076 (Greater Nashville area)

Unit : 33-bed Medical-Surgical (Med / Surg) unit, 6th floor Main Campus

Assignment Length : 13 weeks

Start Date : January 12, 2026

End Date : April 13, 2026

Shift : 7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 PM (12-hour day shifts)

Hours per Week : 36

Schedule : Every other weekend required

Employment Type : Travel RN, On-Site

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1440-$1550

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee or compact state

Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg RN experience

BLS certification from the American Heart Association

Proficient IV skills and experience with Kangaroo pumps, SCDs

Experience with Meditech healthcare documentation system preferred

Ability to float to other clinical units as needed

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to diverse Medical-Surgical patients

Manage a 6 : 1 patient ratio during day shifts, supported by 3 patient care techs and a unit secretary

Administer medications, monitor IVs, and operate specialized clinical equipment

Accurately document patient care using Meditech

Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes

Maintain positive patient experiences and uphold hospital policies and clinical guidelines

Participate in unit activities and foster a supportive healthcare team environment
