JOB SUMMARY

As Director of Manufacturing Operations, you will lead all aspects of FDA / EPA-compliant manufacturing

and drive operational excellence across our production facility. This is a high-impact, floor-based

leadership role ideal for a driven, decisive manufacturing professional who thrives in a hands-on

environment. You will be accountable for cGMP compliance, execution of production plans, and the

development of a high-performing operations team. As a key member of the leadership team, you will

help shape and implement Precision Science's strategic initiatives, ensuring safety, quality, cost-

efficiency, and on-time delivery of our animal health products. The ideal candidate is as confident in

making critical decisions as they are open to team input-someone who leads from the front,

communicates clearly, and owns both outcomes and continuous improvement while creating a positive,

results-oriented and accountable culture.

RELATIONSHIPS

Success in this role depends on your ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and build trust across

all levels of the organization. You will engage closely with internal teams-including production, quality,

maintenance, sales, finance, procurement, warehouse, R&D, and regulatory-as well as with customers

and auditors to deliver compliant and efficient manufacturing outcomes. You must thrive in a diverse,

fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of technical expertise.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead the manufacturing operations to achieve production goals, ensure cGMP and safety compliance, and consistently meet customer expectations.
  • Provide visible, floor-based leadership by actively coaching, troubleshooting, and supporting day-to-day performance.
  • Develop and implement production schedules, resource plans, and performance metrics (KPIs) to drive efficiency and support revenue growth.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timely completion of all production documentation, including batch records, logbooks, and deviation reports.
  • Partner with QA / QC to ensure manufacturing operations remain inspection-ready and compliant with FDA, EPA, and customer requirements.
  • Own or support investigations, CAPAs, and change controls, ensuring effective root cause analysis and timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to align manufacturing with client orders and long-term forecast planning.
  • Support new product introductions and technology transfers to ensure seamless integration into production and readiness for scale-up.
  • Lead daily tiered production meetings and utilize visual management systems to drive accountability, escalate issues, and coordinate teams.
  • Oversee the Manufacturing Operations team to ensure documentation accuracy, operational consistency, and personnel training readiness.
  • Champion a proactive safety culture in partnership with EHS, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
  • Identify and implement initiatives to reduce costs, shorten lead times, increase throughput, and support long-term scalability.
  • Reinforce operational discipline and quality systems to maintain compliance with federal, state, and customer standards.
  • Drive workforce flexibility through cross-training and ongoing personnel development.
  • Collaborate with Finance on annual operating budgets, capital planning, and cost-control strategies.
  • Serve as the key operational representative during client audits, regulatory inspections, and new product launches.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in FDA / EPA-regulated manufacturing; at least 5 years in animal health, pharmaceuticals, or nutraceuticals strongly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of cGMP manufacturing, with experience performing batch record review, deviation management, CAPA, and audit preparedness.
  • Proven, hands-on leadership with a consistent presence on the production floor; adept at navigating both daily challenges and long-term initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams in high-compliance, fast-paced environments.
  • Experience with technology transfers, scale-up activities, and commercial product launches.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA).
  • Proficient in ERP and production systems (e.g., MRP, CMMS, Acumatica); advanced Microsoft Office skills required.
  • Strong communicator with sound decision-making and confident yet collaborative leadership capabilities.
  • Experience with automation, digital manufacturing tools, or data-driven production monitoring is a plus.

  • May be required to work in the summer, winter seasons and in a dusty environment around raw materials such as wheat, alfalfa, soy or peanut butter.
