Job description

The community division of The University of Kansas Health System Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine is seeking a board certified anatomic and clinical pathologist for a full-time position. The position will be based primarily at our health system community hospital locations within the Kansas City metro area and may include some travel for responsibilities at outreach facilities. Cytopathology fellowship training and board certification / eligibility is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities will include general surgical pathology and cytopathology sign-out with a large volume of gastrointestinal biopsies, as well as frozen section services, and clinical pathology responsibilities such as medical directorships. Consultation services from main campus Department of Pathology faculty are available for a broad and inclusive range of anatomic and clinical pathology subspecialties. Opportunities for research collaboration and resident teaching are also available for interested candidates.

Required Qualifications :

  • M.D., M.D. / Ph.D. or D.O. degree
  • Board certified or eligible in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology
  • Eligible for medical licensure in Kansas and Missouri

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Fellowship training and board certified or eligible in Cytopathology
